• Our client, a Non-Ferrous Facility is seeking a Facility Manager (internally titled Non-Ferrous Facility Manager) to run operations at a new facility and build their own team of 20+ employees with full P&L responsibilities.
• In this role, the Facility Manager will be responsible for setting up the warehouse (all non-ferrous), fed by industrial customers & other scrap yards.

Responsibilities:

• Hire and train a full team at the facility, starting with 20+ employees and contractors across logistics, intake, processing, quality control, and administration.
• Meet operational targets on overall warehouse costs and costs per unit of scrap processed.
• Ensure warehouse output targets are met on a daily and weekly basis.
• Oversee the grading of non-ferrous materials according to specifications when they arrive at the warehouse. Reject nonconforming products with proper documentation for customers.
• Create quality manuals for employees and suppliers. Train employees to evaluate incoming and outgoing non-ferrous materials to ensure quality.
• Create and maintain the process for the facility to ensure an efficient and orderly workflow.
• Establish safe practices per local regulatory guidelines and OSHA. Provide safety training to all employees.
• Be a trusted representative in front of both enterprise buyers and scrap yard suppliers. Oversee pickups and deliveries to provide a best-in-class customer experience daily.
• Assist in prototype testing, new feature ideation, and suggestions for enhancements.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in the scrap industry required
• Deep familiarity with a wide variety of scrap aluminum grades required (able to grade, determine quality and deductions, supervise processing)
• Experience in running teams of 10-20+ people preferred
• Experience with setting up a new scrap operation is ideal
• Must be local to Austin, TX or willing to relocate
