Job description: Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Software Engineer to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team. We’re a customer-centric group that encompasses engineering, product, product design and data, security and business systems.In this Software Engineer role, you will be part of our Data Application team. The software engineers are developing features on our reporting application tool. They will work closely with both front and back end developers, as such full stack experience is desired. They will participate in the end to end cycle of software development, including planning, implementation, testing, and monitoring to verify we meet our SLOs.You must be comfortable operating in a high autonomy environment, architecting systems from the ground up and deploying technologies that are new to our organization. You will partner with world-class developers, engineers, architects, and data scientists to drive thinking, provide technical leadership, and collaborate in defining best practices around data engineering. You will also work alongside local product management, engineering, and research teams to develop innovative solutions that will influence our product line.This position reports to the Director, Software Engineering and is based in our Austin, TX location. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.What you will do:A data pipeline for our data lake consisting of batch processing, orchestration with Airflow, monitoring with Datadog and alerting with SlackA Maven package used by all of Product Dev teams for building Kafka consumers with built in support for configuration, error reporting, monitoring, deserialization, gRPC, Spark, Flink, and KubernetesA multi-stage data lake including landing, process and serving zoneCreate API to power front end UI features.Who you are:Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another quantitative field or equivalent relevant experience.Knowledge with AWS services including EC2, S3, Glue, EMR, RDS, Snowflake, Elastic Search, Cassandra and Data pipeline/streaming tools (Kafka etc)Experience working on full-stack modern applications, languages and frameworks (Java, React, Typescript)Experience with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoringExperience writing and optimizing SQL queriesTeam Player. Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience of End-to-end data quality control and automated testing experienceBonus Points:Experience with unstructured data (PDF, contract, plan, image)Data transformation (quality, extraction)Experience in working within team handling all the data pipeline from extraction to Data warehouseAdditional InformationBase Pay Range $96,000 – $132,000.
