Job description: SURESTAFF is hiring an experienced Maintenance Supervisor – 2nd shift for in Lithia Springs, GA. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of facilities, equipment, and systems to maximize productivity in a food manufacturing environment.This role will install, maintain, and replace automation systems. These responsibilities include troubleshooting parts, motion sensors, control components, photo sensors, PLCs, and other automation-related equipment. In addition, the Maintenance Supervisor will own contractor management as well as ensure all techs and contractors follow GMP and Safety policies.This is a permanent full-time position for 2nd shift hours. Days off include Monday and Sunday.Salary Range: $66K-$78KResponsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor:
- Conduct all work in accordance with sound safety practices and proper work methods or procedures; wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Comply with all environmental laws and regulations for chemicals and lubricants as well as disposal and storage
Perform work in accordance with all quality systems requirements and understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) are. * Conducts routine safety checks on the production equipment.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and skill development within the team. As well as increase efficiency and reduce downtime on production equipment.
- Service and maintain production-related equipment, which include motors, conveyors, vibratory fillers, tub washer, flow wrapper, cookers, chillers, vertical and horizontal Form/Fill/Seal, modified atmosphere packaging equipment, etc.
- Install new production equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals to troubleshoot equipment and assess functionality.
- Execute preventative maintenance plans on all equipment as scheduled.
- Maintain records of PMs and emergency work in the CMMS for equipment history.
- Identify spare parts needed and communicate with Maintenance Manager to maintain equipment uptime.
- Coordinate work orders related to improvements and repairs such as dock leveler repairs, plumbing repairs, building access control, etc.
- Oversee contractors conducting facility repairs on the air compressor, hot water heater, and fire suppression system.
- Maintain records of equipment related to compliance requirements such as pH probes, condenser water treatment, or ammonia sensors.
- Ensure maintenance shop audit is ready at all times, this includes properly storing flammable lubricants and maintaining records of critical safety equipment.
- Keep the shop tools and spare parts well organized so all shifts can perform required maintenance.
- Utilize Fiix to log hours worked and close work orders.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
This position requires 10% travel.
Qualifications of the Maintenance Supervisor:
- Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing background preferred
- 2 years of electrical or programming experience preferred
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, servo systems and industrial electronics systems required
- Able to use a variety of hand and power tools and precision measuring
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring repairs and installations, AC/DC controls and schematic diagrams
- PIT and scissor lift OSHA certification required
- Computer skills – able to input/export information into a CMMS
- Able to work in a refrigerated condition below 40 degrees.
