Ratio Nutrition, LLC is a small nutrition practice located in the Austin, Texas area. We are now looking to add a part time Pediatric Dietitian to our team! This position takes place in-person at a Pediatric Behavioral Health facility, with patients ranging from 6-17 years of age. This will be a temporary position, lasting a minimum of 4 months with the potential to extend employment if desired. We offer a flexible schedule with the ability to choose your preferred days of the week to work!
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personalized dietary recommendations to patients, conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, and developing effective treatment plans. In addition to Medical Nutrition Therapy, knowledge of healthcare food service standards is key, as this role also involves some food service management tasks. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently is critical.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient nutrition assessments, including reviewing relevant patient medical history, determining nutrition diagnoses, and developing personalized treatment plans to meet patient needs
Provide nutrition counseling and education to all assessed patients, including contacting patients’ guardians and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team as needed
Follow-up with patients as needed to monitor their progress, adjust treatment plans, and address any concerns or questions
Conduct regular food service audits and compile findings in monthly reports
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field
Completion of a dietetic internship program or residency
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Licensed Dietitian in the State of Texas
ServSafe Manager Certification, or equivalent
CPR certified
Strong knowledge in medical nutrition therapy, with a focus on patient assessment, nutrition counseling, and treatment planning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pediatric patients, their guardians, and healthcare providers
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of prior Clinical Nutrition experience
Prior experience working in Pediatric Nutrition and/or Behavioral Health
Knowledge of State and regulatory healthcare standards and HIPAA Regulations
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs), Nutrition Analysis software, Microsoft Excel software
