**Primary Purpose:**

Directs the evaluation, coordination, and implementation of district network management, systems engineering and technical support services. Responsible for overall performance and availability of district network and systems.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

**Education/Certification:**

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field.

Recognized industry technical certifications preferred.

**Experience/Knowledge/Skills:**

* Knowledge of networking principles and best practices.
* Knowledge of systems engineering principles and best practices.
* Knowledge of cloud computing and best practices.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
* Knowledge of technical support principles and best practices.
* Ability to manage project timelines and budgets.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills.
* Ability to implement policy.
* High level of technical experience related to network and systems management.
* Ability to take ownership of tasks.

**Major Responsibilities and Duties:**

* Administers systems and servers related to district LAN and WAN for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users.
* Help design and maintain network infrastructure (physical and virtual) for the purpose of ensuring effective and efficient networking systems.
* Maintains network operations and software/cloud applications (e.g. servers, operating systems, district-wide server backup, routine maintenance programs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient operations.
* Participates in a variety of planning and development activities, including committees for the purpose of creating short- and long-range plans for department support to the district.
* Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reference materials.
* Recommends equipment and supplies for the purpose of acquiring required items and completing jobs efficiently.
* Researches trends, products, equipment, etc., for the purpose of recommending procedures and/or purchases.
* Responds to emergency situations as needed for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

* Correct unsafe conditions in work area that could cause an accident and inform supervisor of any conditions that are not correctable immediately
* Shall comply with District policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
* Shall comply with the standards of conduct set out in Board Policy DH (Legal) and (Local) and with any other policies, regulations, and guidelines that impose duties, requirements, or standards

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**

Supervises network, systems, and technical support staff.

**Equipment:**

Computers, scanners, printers, video equipment, sound systems, projection system, digital equipment, mobile devices, switches, servers, wireless access points, calculator, telephone, copier, fax machine, answering machine, and shredder

* Work irregular and extended work hours to include holidays and weekends
* Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
* Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer
* Frequent district wide travel and occasional statewide travel
