Job description: SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for an experienced Brake Press Operator for a large manufacturing client located in Garland, TX. This position will manufacture parts per blueprint, or process instruction, ensuring all specifications are met. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! Available shifts: 2nd shift 3:30pm- 1 am Monday through Saturday
Responsibilities of the Brake Press Operator :Maintain safe work environment (i.e., use of personal protective equipment, proper lifting techniques, etc.).
- Performs daily Preventive maintenance on machine.
- Gain knowledge and inspection practice to ensure conformance to quality department specifications.
- Inform management or leads of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.
- Start up and stop equipment.
- Perform routine operations related to the Press Brake equipment.
- Familiarize yourself with the tools, instrumentation, and calibration equipment.
- Clean production area (sweep, mop, and remove debris).
- Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
- Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
- Ensure conformance to specifications.
- Mark parts for identification.
- Place equipment on conveyor belt/tables/baskets/totes for further processing.
- Properly scrap non-conforming material (set up parts).
- Read and interpret gauges.
- Record data.
- Use Epicor ERP to log into and out of jobs.
- Take instructions from the team lead/management/supervisory personnel.
- Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture product at required quality levels.
- Assemble components accurately, thoroughly, and quickly to approved specifications.
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.
- Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications of the Brake Press Operator:
- 1+ years’ experience using production machinery
- Extensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operation required
- Must possess strong basic math skills
- Proven history of working with gauges and calipers
