We work with some of the industry’s hottest next-generation technologies, and you’ll be at the center of rapidly scaling services that will test your engineering limits.Apex Trade Execution engineering teams are charged with building the services our clients love and are at the heart of our future product innovations. We are reimagining our technology and application stack from the ground up, and our team is responsible for building the next generation trading APIs that will lead our industry for years to come. We are seeking smart developers to build out our cloud-native (GCP), event-driven (Apache Kafka, PubSub) Microservices framework.Duties/ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, maintain, peer-review, and continuously tune high-performance, high-throughput software.Learn from and apply design techniques and coding standards coached by our Senior Engineers. Collaborate with other members of the team to learn, develop, and deliver designs and coding standards to meet the growing needs of the platformBuild resilient, self-scaling, self-healing services that allow you to sleep through the night.Support the production systems that you design. This includes building, deploying (CI/CD), and monitoring (DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty).Write commercial grade, well-tested code, and maintain high code-quality standards across your team through code reviews and other best practices.Education and/or ExperienceBA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of prior work experience as a software developer or similar job roles.Previous experience in equity and option trading a strong plus.Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a strong plus.Experience with Kubernetes, Google CloudRun and/or Docker is a plus.Experience with Apache Kafka or Google Pub/Sub is a plus.Experience hiring, mentoring, and coaching other engineers is a plus.Financial services (capital markets, clearing or accounting systems) background is a plus.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong understanding of high load, low latency architecture object-oriented design, algorithm, and data structures.Expertise in at least one modern programming language (Java, Golang, Python, etc.).Ability to learn new technologies (languages, tools, frameworks) quickly.Ability to visualize and propose system design, document the design and implement it.Adaptability: while you enjoy establishing processes and standards, you understand the need to be flexible and enjoy trying new things.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office environment#engineering #mid-senior #full-time #LI-SD1 #APEX​Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
