We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong collaborative mindset.ShipperHQ is looking for an experienced Java engineer to bring exceptional skills to help build our market-leading shipping management platform. We are looking to expand our team, and are searching for the right candidate to provide technical input, quality code, and elegant solutions.Your Impact:Help build and maintain our existing Java core productWork closely with product and engineering team members to bring new features to the productCollaborate with technical support to resolve operational issuesHands-on work with existing systems whilst maintaining quality and stabilityCollaborate with other engineersWhat We’re Looking For:5+ years of experience as a software engineerExtensive hands-on development experience in Java (5+ years)Solid understanding of software development fundamentals including design patterns and object-oriented programmingProven ability to write clean, testable codeExperience with agile methodologies and delivering solutions in an iterative wayExperience in a startup or small company environmentAdaptable and responsiveSets a high bar for qualityStrong communication skills and organizational skillsWillingness to learn new languages, technologies, and stacksDegree in computer science, software, or equivalentBonus points if you have experience in any or all of the following:ReactNodeJSGraphQLAWSRailsSaaS or high-traffic environmentsWhy ShipperHQ?This is a highly fast-paced environment where no two days will look alike.
