Connect with your Talent Advisor for additional specifics.ResponsibilitiesThe Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Dell Children’s Medical Center and Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire interested BE/BC general pediatricians who want to develop skills practicing Pediatric Hospital Medicine in preparation for future careers as pediatric specialists. This position is ideal for recent residency graduates who may be interested in Pediatric Hospital Medicine or other subspecialty fellowships.Position Highlights:

• M-F to start, then transitions to rotating day/night, weekday/weekend
• Main work site is Dell Children’s Medical Center
• Will support 25+ physicians
• Inpatient only

This job location is not currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Pediatric Hospitalists at Dell Children’s are dedicated clinicians and educators, practicing state of the art, evidence-based medicine in robust clinical settings of acute care hospital medicine, subspecialty care, complex care, surgical co-management, and mental health. Our institution’s growing programs and clinical service lines provide ample opportunities for Pediatric Hospitalists to serve the patients and families in our community and region. We have a 4th bed tower that opened Nov 2022 and a North Austin campus that opened in the spring of 2023. We provide 24/7 in house coverage.RequirementsLicensure/Certification/Registration:Required Credential(s):

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
