Key product categories include personal safety (respiratory, hearing, eye, and fall protection), abrasives (coated, bonded, and non-woven), adhesives and tapes (industrial adhesives and various tapes), electrical markets (electrical tapes, wire connectors, and cable management), automotive aftermarket (collision repair and automotive tapes and adhesives), and industrial and safety markets (safety solutions and industrial maintenance products).An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs an Undergraduate Marketing/Sales Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Data Analysis: Analyze deviated pricing bands and trends for top SKUs to identify patterns and opportunities for price optimization.Trend Identification: Monitor and report on pricing trends, deviations, and anomalies to support strategic pricing decisions.Opportunity Identification: Identify opportunities to reduce price variability and improve price realization.Recommendation Development: Provide specific recommendations for deviated price adjustments to enhance pricing strategies and minimize lines on contract.Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to the marketing and sales teams.Develop Sales Activation Strategies: Design and implement sales activation plans to drive product awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth.Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales activation initiatives.Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and monitor sales activation campaigns, including promotions, events, and digital marketing efforts.Performance Analysis: Analyze the effectiveness of sales activation programs and campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners to enhance brand loyalty and drive sales.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Previous internship or coursework in data analysis, pricing strategy, or marketing analytics.Understanding of pricing strategies and market dynamics.Work location:Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Austin, TX at least 2 days per week)Austin, TXTravel: May include up to 10% domestic3M provides eligible interns with a housing and transportation stipend in accordance with current policy.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
