Job description: Field EngineerOur Central Texas based Engineering firm specialize in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Structural, Civil, and Transportation Engineering. Our company has been around for nearly 35 years and has grown steadily, taking on more complex engineering design and project management roles.We offer a wide range of services, including Commissioning, Cost Estimating, and Construction Administration. Our portfolio covers various markets such as Civic, Commercial, Education, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Multi-family, Transportation, and Travel & Leisure.Position Overview
The Field Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring that all engineering processes are followed, and that projects are completed on time and within budget. This position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
• Perform cost estimating and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in planning and scheduling project activities to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
• Maintain technical records and documentation related to the project, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards.
• Facilitate communication among project stakeholders to resolve conflicts and address issues promptly.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in construction, preconstruction, engineering, or project management roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field strongly preferred.

• Relevant experience, skills, and training may be substituted.
• Experience working on heavy civil construction projects preferred.

• Water/wastewater experience a major plus.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, cost estimating, and project controls.
• Proven experience managing technical records and documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Familiarity with quality and safety regulations in construction environments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
• This role requires candidate to be on-site daily at Central Austin construction site.
