The Assistant Director of Finance will oversee the UEE financial activities and reporting and coordinate business processes and logistics. Will prepare budget projections and funds recovery requests to ensure business continuity in compliance with university policies and procedures. Reviews and evaluates unit activities and support systems to implement changes to improve and maintain the effectiveness of unit operations. Works with university departments to develop systems for capturing information necessary to prepare financial feasibility studies and specialized reports summarizing financing activities.ResponsibilitiesAssists the CBO and other members of the Finance team with financial reporting, budget administration, account reconciliations, contract administration, and procurement credit card management for UEEManage the finance staff members who assist in completing the business tasks for UEE activities, ensuring the highest levels of customer service are provided to all stakeholdersCollaborate with UEE, UDO, and other stakeholders to facilitate procurement, payment, travel, vendor, and contract management. Meet short deadlines and turnaround times and prioritize the completion of financial transactionsWorks with Finance team members to manage UEE revenue and expense budgets, ensure adequate operational funding, and identify potential problems with cash flows. Develop and coordinate routine and ad hoc financial analysis, including expenditure, financial modeling, and metricsIdentify strategic solutions, purchase alternatives, and participate in annual budget preparation exercises in collaboration with the CBO and members of the UEE teamReview of procurement details, codes, support documentation, and close out of UEE expenditures activitiesEstablish best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process maps that align with institutional policies and ensure appropriate stewardship of funds. Work in collaboration with finance team members to abridge efficient and transparent processes, reports, and financial information across all areas of UDOCommunicate key data in a user-friendly and concise manner to individuals with varying levels of financial acumen, including presentations to program staff, senior management, and cross-functional team membersOther duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.Minimum five years of experience in a related field, such as finance, program management, operations, or higher education administration.A self-starter requiring little supervision with strong interpersonal and communication skills and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing applications (Microsoft Suite Applications and Smartsheet preferred).Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience with the University of Texas financial systems and accounting procedures.
